Why can't A-Roid accept his punishment like a man?

Alex Rodriguez doesn't get it.
On Monday, his teammate, Francisco Cervelli, was, along with Rodriguez, suspended for using performance enhancing drugs (PED's). Cervelli, on the disabled list since late April, accepted his penalty without fuss or drama. The next time the Yankees see him, barring the playoffs, would be at Spring Training in Tampa next February.
Other players, including the Mets' Jordany Valdespin, Detroit's Jhonny Peralta, & Texas' Nelson Cruz, also accepted 50-game bans and opted against an appeal. Rodriguez, a tabloid magnet, preferred to appeal, feeling that the right move for him is to be back on the field with the Yankees. No, it isn't, no matter how much the Yankees need him, what with the injury plague they're dealing with.
The right move is to take the punishment like a man, skip the appeal process, which means a ruling wouldn't be made until after the season, and disappear until 2015. The problem is, Rodriguez doesn't believe he did anything wrong, and that would include lying to MLB investigators 4 years ago when he said that he only used PED's when he was with Texas. He thinks the Yankees conspired against him, in conjunction with MLB. That sounds like a paranoid, delusional fool in denial to me.
It's all about the money with Rodriguez. It always has been, even though he's not represented by Scott "20 Mule Team" Boras anymore. He actually relishes the attention he's getting from the NY tabloids, even if they're pleading with him to do the right thing and go away.
I find it amusing he's still dating ex-wrestler Torrie Wilson. Another guy associated with both WWE and A-Roid's alma mater, the University of Miami might consider sending him a noisy message if they were to ever meet at an alumni function, but in the eyes of a lot of people, A-Roid has already hit Rock Bottom.
Do us all a favor, A-Roid. Forget the money, the attention, and the appeals and denials. Take the suspension, walk away, and we can all move on.
