Do you mind if I ask you what effect you used to get that cross-stiched look on Howe's face? For making vintage customs, I wanna use that effect since a normal photo looks really out of place. I've gotten near to it using Topaz but never really got there.

Hello,
Not an effect. I found the picture on the internet. It was that way to begin.
Keep plugging away...would love to see some of your attempts.
Cheers.

I've been slowly knocking some customs off of my plate and thought I'd share one that had me thinking outside the box.
I had somebody ask me to build a card to house his ticket from Jarome Iginla's 1000th point game. Having never done anything oversized before I thought it would be a great chance to try something new.
At 6 5/8 x 9 7/8 inches.........I know - real traditional eh? - it's about the size of a comic book (and actually fits into a comic book bag perfectly).
The back is pretty simple as I let the text do the talking. I was able to find a photo from the actual game which is a little touch that I liked.
You may have noticed the little square in the bottom left corner.
That square is the outside the box I was talking about.
I wanted to do something special with the ticket.
I didn't want the ticket to be something that was permanently adhered to the card so I found a way to have it "sit" in the card. It can be removed (albeit with a little effort) so that the ticket isn't compromised in any way.
I was pumped when the finished product turned out almost exactly the way I wanted. I learned a lot through this "trial & error" process and the work put in really paid off.
I really liked this project. Hope you do too.
