Info on "Lockout 2012" set?
Does anyone have any info on a set of cards called "Lockout 2012"? SCF lists it as a 220 card set, but each card is numbered to 20. Does anyone know who/what produced this? Was it a real card company? Or just some dude in his basement with a laser printer? I find it very hard to believe that a card company would waste the time to produce a set with only a print run of 20 each. Kind of hard to make any money off of that.
The only cards I have ever seen selling on EBay are all by one guy in Russia. He also has a complete set all with the same serial #. So it leads me to believe that it was just some guy in Russia that got busy finding pictures on the Internet and made a few hundred cards himself. But if this were so, why does SCF list it as a real set? They don't usually list "custom" cards.

My guess is that it is a Russian dude with a laser printer sort of set. Not sure why it is listed in the SCF inventory. I have a few Czech postcards I was going to ask to have listed until I realized that they were of the "dude with a laser printer" variety, so I decided not to bother.

Never even heard of a Lockout set until I opened this thread, likely a homemade set.

They certainly look well done, but you cant really tell if that is the actual card or the stock photo used to make the card. He never posts a pic of the back of the cards. And I am always wary of stated print runs if the PR is not stamped on the card.
There are other "lockout" cards. These were done by a Swiss company, but I dont know if its a whole set or just inserts/subsets (I haven't seen that many):
There are also Finnish, Swedish, and German lockout cards, but again, I don't know if they are full sets or just inserts/subsets. SCF lists the Finnish and German, but not the Swedish or Swiss. "City Press" seems to be the producer of at least two of these "sets", but I have never heard of them.
I was just wondering if anyone owns any of these and if they can comment on how professional they are. I tend to stay away from home-produced cards because their quality is usually low and not worth what the sellers on EBay ask for them. Again, I just find it hard to believe that an actual real card company would make an entire set of cards of only 20 copies.

all indications are this is a home made job, in which case it should not be in the inventory manager. I own the bobby ryan from this set and there in no manufacturer noted on the card (it is numbered out of 20 on the back) I can look into this further when I get home from work this afternoon
Bobby Ryan NON 1/1 PC 1280/1339 95.6%
Aidan Dudas NON 1/1 PC 47/47 100%!!!!!
Nick Suzuki PC 152 cards
Wayne Gretzky PC 1593 cards
Wade Boggs PC 359 cards
Tony Gwynn PC 187 cards
Derek Jeter PC 90 cards

Enroth is in the set, and judging from the seller (I've found this "Lockout 2012" set on eBay before), all the seller does is make custom sets. The listings are fairly similar for his other sets I've seen posted, too. They are all custom made cards. I have taken the Lockout 2012 card out of my wantlist, and don't use it towards my official Enroth collection numbers. Very well made though!

Thanks for the info. This is great. I had already picked up the Brooks Laich insert from the 12/13 Swiss set, but I now see he has another base card I have to track down. Thank You!
