Has anyone ever bought guaranteed hot packs off ebay? Good Experience or bad? If so do you have a suggestion on a seller?

This is not to turn into a hate fest!

This is a touchy subject and people tend to get a little crazy. I will say that this stems from pack searching and a lot of people will try to get ugly about it. If you want to buy a lot of autos and GU cards it would be better served to look into lot sales. Sort of make sense right?

Remember, the guys who sell hot packs are usually good enough to pull the best for themselves.

I thought it was a weight process...not a opening a resealing process. Most of those guys are shady as hell from what I can tell...seems they keep all there Hot pack auctions Private. On the other side of the coin from what you said about just buying lots...I'm a pack hound...I collect for the rush of opening.

My 1 experiance was a 06 Sweet Spot Baseball pack...Opened the Bubble mailer to a weird smell...Then as soon as i tried to open the pack...BAM the whole seal came open at once...no tearing...well...it also smelled and had a weird substance on it...Lo and behold...The Con artist just Superglued the packs shut...Pulls and keeps to good stuff for himself, and puts the crappy stuff back in for other people to spend money on...
The guy even left me a Neg. feedbackk because i demanded my money back and filed a claim with paypal...of course he cleared his paypal account and i never saw the money again and he Closed or got banned from Ebay at the same time...so ya...i'd steer clear of "hot Packs"

I have bought a few "Guaranteed" jersey and a couple of "Guaranteed" auto packs off of eBay for Stocking Stuffers for my son in the past. There were never any "great" hits, but I never paid an insane amount of money for any of them either.

I never suspected that any of them had been opened and resealed. There was a Montana jersey in one of the packs, a Roy Williams rookie jersey/hat numbered to 25 and I thought those were pretty decent. I would stay away from the "private" feedback/auctions and would never buy a "high end" guaranteed pack like SPA or SPX.

Also, whenever they advertise "GU/Jsy/AU" it means a jersey card. These pack feelers KNOW when it's an auto and when its a GU, because if you look at their other auctions they will have guaranteed AU packs that they're selling too.

Sooo....that is my two cents. I, personally don't mind spending $7 or $8 on a retail pack to get a jersey card at least that would normally cost $3 that you get junk in. On the other hand after you see these things on eBay, who in their right mind would buy retail packs that aren't in the blaster boxes? You know damn well that those have been searched 90% of the time.
