Okay, this looks like a base 1992 Favre Pinnacle card:
But wait, Favre didn't have a base card in 1992 Pinnacle. If you look at the back it has a Rookies and Stars logo - because this is an insert from 2002 Leaf Rookies and Stars. I wish there were more insert sets like this, utilising old card designs:
From 200 Donruss Elite comes this Passing the Torch Insert numbered out of 500 with Bart Starr on the front:
And Favre on the back:
This $25 Sprint Phone card comes from 1996 Proline Intense II:
This Perennial All-Pro Die cut insert comes from 1997 Proline DC3:
This Star of the NFL fie-cut insert comes from 200 Playoof Prestige and is numbered out of 500:
This Pro Mags magnet is from 1996 and was an insert:
This is the foil version of the favre Quntam Motion card tfrom 1996 Collector's Edge. It is numbered out of 500:
And this is the Favre Hall Bound insert from 1999 Topps Chrome:

Darn straight!
I really wish other companies would follow Topps lead and use some of their older designs for their inserts.
Really cool die-cuts! The other inserts are great as well, especially the Quantum Motion.
Fantastic patches between the oversized ones and the multi-color one.
The "Iron Man" auto is awesome!

The 5 star is sweet, I like that 96 collectors edge, lots of cool cards in the 90's, they should try putting out more imaginative insert sets again, even just rehashing them would be a good thing.

Thanks Bob.
Yeah, the retro designs are good. Having inserts based on retro card designs would be great idea for most card sets.
The Inscriptions are great too.
Yeah, I wonder is anyone has the rights to the old collector's edge designs and names. I would love to see Excalibur make a comeback.

The last one I need is the Grand Finale version numbered out of 50, which still has a nominal book value of $250. Here are the 5 above cards together:

Okay, a triple auto from 2008 Exquisite numbered out of 20 with Peyton Manning and Tony Romo. I bought this for the Romo auto - ever since he had the common sense to dump Jessica Simpson I have been a fan of his:
From 2005 Classics is this Past and Present dual jersey card of Bart Starr and Brett Favre numbered out of 50:
From 2010 Topps Tribute comes this dual Favre and Adrian Peterson jersey card numbered 4/15 - Favre's jersey number:
And a 2005 Threads Gridiron Kings dual jersey card numbered out of 75:

Nice cards, Oz. This is one of my favorite sets when I was a kid. I loved these cards! Cool that they remade a Favre.
Did you win the auto'ed version of the Passing the Torch Favre/Starr? It was up a couple days ago.Last edited by freethrowtommy; 07-04-2011 at 02:55 PM.

Those spx are great looking cards, nice triple auto, I can't think of a better reason to buy a Romo auto.
