How many of you use Best Offer on your ebay listings? I add it to all of my fixed price listings. If you use it I'm curious how much negotiating you find yourself doing with a potential buyer.
I will typically counter offer unless the offer is on an item I've had sitting for awhile or if it's a decent offer. Usually when I counter offer I rarely expect to get a sale or even a counter offer. It's odd that people won't dicker more than one time. I guess they give their best price in the first offer, but it's too bad that ebay negotiating seems to be completely different than face to face negotiating.

I find that you're generally right, though I did just sell a framed ad print for a sporting event with a Best Offer haggle. Had it at $200, he came in at $100, I countered at $150, he came back $130, and I sold my $6 print.

Generally speaking, I only put BIN/BO on cards valued over $10 - anything else I set it and forget it. I try to price well and don't care to haggle over a $5 card.
I think you are probably right as well - counter offers seem to die on the vine or get rejected with no information.

I have never used the option all though I might try it. I have had people make offers while my auction is running and i it does not sell I might sell it. I usually put my bottom line price on auctions and just keep relisting with success.

When I run auctions I start a bit below where I want but in a range that I'm happy with if it sells with one bid. I don't do the $1 start or anything like that unless I want to blow it out.

I run $1 items for stuff i want to get rid of but I usually start out at what I would be happy to get for it. Always been satisfied with that method.

I'm not sure why I haven't done this sooner, but I just bought some boxes that are supposed to fit in the flat rate padded envelopes. Should be a good way to be able to ship some smaller heavy items and keep them well protected.
