No...the players will be there for several weeks yet. Now is a great time to send, especially to players that have been signing. I have a batch going out this week...

Newb question.
Is the rush to send to spring training because in season signing success is that bad?

It's not terrible, you're just likely to see a lot more players signing during Spring Training that don't sign during the regular season.

Actually, there are a lot of players that sign during season that don't during ST. I think it's because a lot of people are just anxious for baseball to start, therefore all the hype about spring training.

(shields his eyes against the coming storm of angry comments)
spring training being better is overrated. If he's gunna do it he's gunna do it, if not he's not. Whether it's in ST or regular season doesn't really matter all that much.
Some people clean up, sure, but most of us (including myself) do the same or even worse than regular season requests.

It does depend on the player. Some do only sign during ST as they actually have more time than during the season. Others do mail when they travel during the season and respond better. The nice part of ST and one that I have not even taken advantage of is the former players who pop up during ST and sign while they are not as good during the rest of the year c/o home. I have added names like Greg Nettles, Will Clark, Paul Molitor and Tony Perez by mailing during ST to camps. It seems each ST that there are a handful of stars who answer mail as well. Last season it was Vlad and Big Mac who only signed during ST and many of us were thrilled to add them! You still have a good two weeks or so to mail down South!

I'm new but the only logical reason I can come up with is that there would be more mail for them to go through during the regular season than spring training.

And more free time during Spring Training...these guys have nothing to do all day. Before the games started, they would practice until about one at the Twins camp...during the season, they're busier.
