Is UD headed for disaster?
While this is strictly a rumor for now, I just heard that SPA is delayed until July. Also rumor states that Ultimate and The Cup are in jeopardy of not being produced. Is this the beginning of the end for UD?
This season has been awful for the hobby.....

If Ultimate goes... they might survive.
If The Cup doesn't get produced, UD could be done (I'd almost bet on it - this is their $$$ product).
There would need to be some real 'evidence' that this is likely to happen before I believe it, though... Those sets have probably been in development for the last few months, probably with cards made since they both feature hard-signatures, so UD wouldn't pull them without some real 'persuasion'. The only hold up would be UD 'bouncing' checks to players for autos, which is possible given their financial situation.
What makes you say it's been a 'awful' year for the hobby, though? Anything in particular?

honnestly i am just comming back from collecting (literally a week ago) and havent collected in about 2-3 years. Im kinda bummed when i see panini stuff, most of the auto's and jersey cards are from.....well, C grade players. I mean there are A players mixed in, but nothing really spectacular. Some breaks i've seen people kill it, some i feel sorry for the people who bought the stuff cause it sucked badly
UD has always been my favorite card company without question. they screw up sometimes, alot of times....but that happens when you mass produce i guess. I still love their cards and will support UD. SPA is my favorite product by far ( 09/10 rookie reviews :D )
ITG is very cool also. the only thing i find is their card designs are very plain to me. nothing flashy or elegant. I really like ITG's older players. I think thats what really sets ITG apart for me.

We've still managed to have a product a month, which I'm not going to complain about, but if they aren't produced, well, yeah.. we all know that's trouble.

Yeah, it's an awful year. Ultimate should have been out by now and Cup in a couple months.
They are in serious trouble if they do not release anything, especially SPA, next month.
Someone really has to get their heads out of their behinds at UD, starting this second!

I wonder if UD has lost touch with us...I mean..SPGU at 180 box....and I don't think it was received well given the 'hits'. Would make sense to put SPGU off to ENSURE SPA and The Cup are produced on time, given those two being as popular as they are. Just thinking out loud.

UD's Facebook page still has SPA Listed as a 6/5 Release and ultimate as 6/26. Who knows what reality really is?

Are they still putting ugly $1.00 and $2.00 re-sale Jerseys in this issue like they have since 2001?
00-01 SP Game-Used Hobby Box Inaugural Price was $85.00 per box, it's more than doubled?
Sheesh
