I have a list of favorite sellers, and I tend to watch & bid on their stuff a lot more often than other sellers' cards. Soooooo it could be just that. Or not.

Does 50% of your total bid activity on Ebay go to 1 seller. Do you have 12 bid retractions in 6 months with that same seller as well?

Nope!! You can see my stuff listed, it's mostly older plus some lower end jerseys and autos. I made a mistake last week at the card show and bought a 240 card lot, turns out I only really wanted 9 of them. BUT it gives me an excuse to throw a giant Topps lot up for bids. Maybe make some money for my big big BIG 3-day vacation to Victoria in a couple weeks.........Tragically Hip with Jets Overhead and Sam Roberts and Current Swell yessiree bob!!!

He's obviously not a very good shill bidder, then. The point is to make someone else pay more for it. I kid...but not really. If he is indeed a shiller, look for the card to be re-listed in very short order.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

Those 12 bid retractions are not necessarily with the same seller. That number on his summary is for all auctions.
The way I read his 42% activity with the seller is this:
7 total bids on items
3 of those bides on items with this seller
3 divided by 7 = 42%
So he's bid multiple times on this one, but that 42% number is skewed by the fact that he only has 7 total bids. I have times where my numbers with one person are that high when I'm bidding often, too.
I don't really see this as a shill, just a guy who likes to retract bids once he figures how high the other bidder has gone.

Well, I guess my paranoia wasn't paranoia and my suspicions were confirmed. Here is the same card relisted by the same seller 1 week later:

I didn't think it was necessarily shill bidding, but the evidence now seems to point that way. Either way, I'd avoid a shady seller like this. He obviously didn't get what he wanted for the card, so he's refusing to sell.
I guess these guys just think we're too dumb to notice sometimes.
