Which would you conservative christians prefer?
Here are you choices. You can either live in america the land of the free, home of the brave that includes equal rights for all including but not limited to blacks, gays, muslims, women, hispanics, jews etc. Gays would have the right to marry any other consenting adult as they see fit. Muslims, jews, etc would be able to peacefully practice their chosen religion w/o any outside interference or harrassment. Or you can live in a country without any freedom of religion and no legal right legally and peacefully practice christanity or any other religion for that matter. The state will determine what religion we must follow and there will be a cheif of religious police. The choice is either one or the other and is non neogotiable. Chose wisely.

I'd move to a remote island where everyone was equal and we could practice whatever we'd like. (and, actually, in all reality, I may be doing that once Im out of college <Micronesia?>)

I would stay in Canada where things aren't amazing, but they're better than everywhere else.

OK, gotta be careful the way I respond.
I think (this is exclusively my opinion) that SOME conservative Christians want to live a country that they have fabricated in their minds.
In this country there IS freedom of religion, but at the same time the "National religion" is Evangelical Christianity.
In this country gay marriage is 100% banned in all states, however they are not anti-gay.
In this country prayer and bible reading is endorsed by public schools, but this is not infringing in any rights because it's "optional".
In this country politicians HAVE to be Christian and pander to their beliefs, but again this is not infringing in freedom of religion.
You see, what I'm getting at is that SOME conservative christians want to have their cake and eat it too, the real world doesn't work that way.
The only way we can have a TRUE "freedom of religion" government is to be 100% neutral.

You leave out the alternative you live in wherein the minority rules and forces their choices on the entire society.
And I left out the part where the successful bear the financial burden to pay for the non-achievers and achieve the stated goals.Last edited by ALADOG; 08-15-2012 at 04:35 PM.

I live in the united states and i can assure you that is not the case. Here the conservative right wing christians are in the back pockets of our politicians and dictate all of our policies. Until we actually have real seperation of church and state american will continue to head down the toilet.Last edited by mrveggieman; 08-16-2012 at 07:50 AM. Reason: typo

Now that is rich. A socialist/communist liberal blaming the conservatives for the destruction and spiral downward of the USA that is a direct result of the liberal agenda since the 1940's.
