Well, you're not exactly asking for anything specific and there are a number of threads that cover some basic information, so I'm not really sure what you're looking for.

^This. What exactly do you need help with? You gotta be more specific.

I've never had any luck with cards really but I print out 4X6 photos at work of players I want to send them to and send a short letter also. Had the most success with mma fighters.

I usually send 1 or 2 cards.I write a short letter asking them to sign enclosed card.If I send more then 1 I offer the other one for them to keep.I will ask them a question or 2,and I thank them for there time.I have only been doing
TTMs for a little over a year, and have gotten back about 300,all baseball. The
TTM manager here is a great source for addresses.I always try to post my successes and failures in the TTM manager so other members can get an idea
    who signs and who dosen't.

If you're just starting out, try to get some guys who are good signers first. When I started up, I hit up some of these guys and still do. Kinda like a college football team during week 1, you want a warm up game and a success to get your confidence/hopes up. Some guys off the top of my head: Joe Nathan, Nyjer Morgan, Nate Archibald, Arnold Palmer...these guys are pretty solid returners...AND THEY'RE ALL GREAT PLAYERS! From there, sky's the limit.

I would say read through the posts in the link above. The TTM Database has addresses and tracks successes. I may have gotten a few autographs this way over the years, so give out a yell should you have more questions.
