It's kind of funny how that happens! Many times I have watched live interviews of players on TV talking about how they love to sign autographs for fans soon after I have received an autograph from them. So many cool coincidences
Ok I got a little anxious and started to look up a few of my Favorite players of the 80's in the 1987 set. Like a Bolt of Lightening I was watching TV and Andre Dawson gets pulled out of the Ivy on a State Farm commercial. Also decided on Dale Murphy as i have his 1987 Topps and Donruss.
On 10/11 i decided to send out 2 more with Donations:
Andre Dawson #345- sent 2 cards 1987 Topps/1991 Topps with a Letter of Request and $20 Donation to The Andre Dawson Foundation. The foundation helps low income youth become involved in sports, great cause and i get a signature out of the deal. Mention my man crush on the 1988 Cubs team plus threw a Greatest commercial ever for the State Farm Kerry Wood Ivy commercial....I did not mention the 80's curl he had working but that was great!! RECIEVED BOTH SIGNED
Dale Murphy #490 - sent 2 cards 1987 Topps/1987 Donruss with a letter of request and a $10 donation to Operation Kids. I felt the cause was worth the donation and if i land a couple autos out of the deal then it is a great deal. Mentioned in my letter about watching the old Braves games on TBS. Also mentioned that i thought he belongs in the Hall, which is true, before anyone who used steriods. I will say that Dale was a true Professional when he played in the 80's both on and off the field.
*If the 1987 Donruss comes back signed it will be for trade for 1987 TTM's.
Ken Dixon #528- Last minute add to the list as i sent this one with the other two. My radio station DJ used to play for the Orioles and tells lots of stories about playing for the Orioles. I sent LOR with a few stories the DJ is sharing. Also left contact info for the station.
