Interesting, I think with the lockout, if Canada simply chose the 12 most talented forwards we would have by far the most talented team. I think that is the way to go like they did for the 2010 Olympics, after they chose a lot of role players for the 06 Olympics and that backfired on them. If I recall correctly that was the time Gretzky sat on the bench while Bourque took a turn at the shootout?
I think the best talent can adapt to play different roles, dangerous on the penalty kill, etc, and have that offensive upside so the opposition has to be weary of 4 dangerous lines coming at them all the time! I hope Mackinnon and Druin make the team, even if only on the 4th line. Anyway Just my 2 cts, don't anyone have a heart attack on me ;P
