Gomez is out! Alleluia!!!!
That's right, he's been told to stay at home for the season. Why? Because the Habs cannot afford the risk that he be injured and that they would be prevented to buy him out at the end of the season. Load off every fan's mind!

He's officially been assigned to Hamilton but told not to report. This move saves the Canadiens about $900K in cap space.

Now they can sign Subban to a 6 year 30 million dollar contract ( LOL My guess for the race for the price contest)

Ummm don't think so...Del Zotto, same agent, same stats or thereabouts signed for 2 years...I think Bergevin might manage to get PK to do it the Habs way...
But i look forward to finally shipping that Price auto jersey lol

I think this decision about Gomez was the best one the Habs could make. I totally understand how they do not want him to get injured and not be able to buy him out. Looks like his career is over. Who is going to want to sign him next year after he has not played for a year? Hopefully other players will not agree to ridculous contracts like his in the future.
I think this move will also allow Galchenyuk to start the season with the Habs. Plekanec and Pettri Nok. were not skating today. I bet the Habs will have Galchenyuk play his five games with the Habs at the start of the season and then send him back to the OHL to not burn a year of the entry level contract. I think the starting centres for the Toronto game will be Desharnais-Eller-Galchenyuk-White.
