Here's a red flag:
Member Id: 1***d( 0 ) Not a registered user US $13,001.00 22-Jan-13 22:03:45 EST
I suspect that indicates foul play involved in the process to drive up the price by $5K at the end.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

That's what I thought too rich, but it seems so obvious?

The 2 bid cancellations at $9,000 and $13,000 don't help the case. This looks more like someone trying to show off or drive an off-line price discussion.

Just as a reference point, does anybody know confirmed sale prices of some of the other top Cup 1/1 rookies? I'm very, very happy that I was able to get my Gorges for a low three-figures price after seeing this. haha

We'll find out in 2 days:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281053185142?
It's not Crosby, Ovi, or Malkin, but I mean, still... it's a decent reference point...
Kinda makes you wonder what this will go for:

Seriously... I think I saw Malkin's go for $2,500 from Hot Prospects...

That Hall will end under 5K and rightly so.
Today's hobby, where $400.00 cards are routinely sold for $1,800.00 Lol. A fool and his money ......

We will never know what the Hall will end for....
And hey, people are stupid, but if it's a card I have, let them be stupid!

That's a lot of money! But It's all relative I guess... there are people in the hobby who have deep pockets and dropping 10K on a hockey card to them may be equivalent to $100 for someone else. People buy huge mansions, ferrari's for money I can only dream off, so why wouldn't these same people buy "the very best" high-end rookie cards... it's not really all that surprising or shocking.

Wouldn't that make it a $1,800 card?
