Where is your favorite spot to IP graph?
I have graphed some cool places after being in this hobby for a good number of years. I was interested to see where our members favorite events or places to IP graph was. Minor league baseball parks are always some of the best graphing. The lower the minors the better the access and more open to signatures players seem. Ft Wayne low A for the Padres for instance throws all their players into the outfield after every Sunday home game for fans to come onto the field and get autos and photos! Minor league all star games bring a ton of prospects in one place and usually they have some sort of organized autograph event where you can get most if not all of the players! NFL football camps are fun. I have done a few teams and was shocked at some of the big names I had gotten. I will say for football that the NFL Combines was the best graphing I have ever had. I did that for 4 or 5 years in a row and must have gotten 90% of the guys drafted each year! Race tracks are fun as you have to keep eyes open for not only drivers, retired drivers, reporters, owners, but also celebrities that might just be a fan that day themself! I had a buddy who graphed the NCAA basketball coaches meeting at the final four one year. I was shocked at the number and quality of coaches names he was able to obtain on his basketball. Team or defunct league reunion events are cool. I will say that the ABA reunion I graphed one year was really cool. I have heard that hockey guys are great after the skate around early in day on game days? Many are hotel graphers. I was never big on being a hotel autograph hound, but did do so when the basketball world championships came to Indianapolis. I did get some big names, but it just did not have a comfortable feel to me. Talking for a little bit with George Karl about his book I had him sign was really cool though. I have never graphed a college team. I could see why someone would try to graph The Ohio State University, Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, LSU, Texas or any of the powerhouse football teams. Baseball caravans are supposed to be cool and I have never did those. Please share a few of the events or locations that you enjoy getting signatures from.

Not a ton in Minnesota and I really just started doing major "graphing trips" in the last couple of years. A few of my things to do are:
1. Vikings Training Camp
2. The local basketball pro am
3. NCAA basketball tournament public practices.
Wolves games and the Gophers basketball team's midnight madness are also towards the top for me.

I stick to minor league games with a pro game sprinkled in. AA and AAA guys are so much better with signing. I see them give away bats, gloves etc to kids and that's great to see.

1. Annual Dayton Flyers basketball Red & Blue scrimmage ( get a Flyers logo basketball signed by the whole team every other year)
2. I know this sounds wrong but there is a place just outside of Cincinnati that has a lot of paid signings. Very organized and love the people that own the shop.
3. Minor League game (even though I have yet to graph at one)
4. Major League game (got one auto at an MLB game and that was about 10 years ago - Pudge Rodriguez, wish I still had it)
5. Card Shows

Being a dodgers fan you would think i would say dodger stadium , but that is not the case, as I have a big picture piece ice been working on, and cause of the size (22x26 inches) dodger stadium won't allow it therefore I
Always go take it to petco park and get dodgers to sign inside and outside at their hotel and in over 3 yrs of taking my poster there I have got just on the poster 50+ autos( now has 87) and have got many other autos at that stadium is way fan friendly for autographs, and any
Dodger minor league affiliate have done them both as the I.e. 66ers and the Rancho Cucamonga quakes(high a ball) have got some good autos from them, mannywood, puig and about every coach on the dodgers that was ever a dodger!!!! Those are

Basketball is my favorite sport to graph. NBA/WNBA games are much cheaper than football and I can use my low end base to get graphed. I don't really collect a bunch of baseball cards so I don't do a lot of baseball IP.
Edit I just realized the OP wrote spot instead of sport. LOL. My spot is usually Phillips areana in the autograph section but I will go where I have to for an auto.Last edited by mrveggieman; 07-10-2013 at 04:07 PM.

Hotels are good. And are even better when you stay there for a weekend so they can't kick you out.

I love my minor league parks. Tonight I went to Scranton to see if I could grab Jeter. Of course, I missed out for the third straight day but did get Michael Pineda. Then got to witness my wife escort Fernando Martinez and Randy Ruiz to their car with an umbrella. It was quite amusing to see two grown men much taller than my wife trying to hunker under the same umbrella and go out to their car. Where else can you have an experience like that? Two nights ago my wife got a picture with J.R. Murphy, one of the better Yankees prospects. I'll take my chances at a minor league game any day. You never know how great the auto you get will one day turn out to be so it is a little like prospecting with cards or playing the stock market.
This year I will be going up to the NY Giants training camp. I went once before when they had it at the Meadowlands and got Justin Tuck but this year I aim to get a lot more. I just hate the crowds at those things and how pushy people get.I collect NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knicks, and NJ Nets. I am willing to trade. PM me if you have any cards signed by players from these teams.
Working on collecting all living New York Giants (football) and New York Yankees. The question is which team drives me nuts first!!!
