The Obama Budget.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3019281.html
Medicare cuts, social security cuts, cuts to USPS, cuts to unemployment benefits....
Thanks for being a Progressive, Obama...
Seriously, what's the point of paying for medicare, social security, and other ENTITLEMENTS (lol, do these people understand what the word "entitlement" means? It means we are ENTITLED TO IT!) if they're just going to cut it.
Goodness sake, here comes American Austerity.Last edited by JustAlex; 04-07-2013 at 02:42 AM.

The defense budget should have had 1/8th of itself removed, as it's not required, then you would not have to touch anything else. Homeland security budget is also far too high.

There's a lot of truth to this, though things do need to change with entitlement programs.

Doesnt matter the Speaker has already trashed this budget.
But I agree with NO CUTS to SS. Medicare needs to look at over costs moving forward.
But with no cuts to defense or other aspects of the budget means this just another talking point. Obama and his people need some spine and get things done!

So the GOP rejected the proposed budget that is mostly all about cuts....
Inb4 GOP supporters continue to say that Obama is a socialist, nazi, anti-christ, dictator who is unwilling to compromise.
For goodness sake....@Obama....STOP!!!!
Do NOT compromise on these issues!
Don't you freaking get it?
They will ALWAYS HATE YOU!
There is nothing....literally NOTHING you can do which will make them reason with you.
Why should you have to be the one that compromises when they are very clear in their position of NOT compromising a single thing?
The GOP are like playground bullies, it's like they're coming up to Obama and telling him to give them your lunch money, and Obama is saying..."What if I give you half my lunch money".
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?!?
Don't give them anything!
Fight them!

Alex, that might be the other way around. first, budget is not officially released till the 10th, this was already in the works and no one has rejected anything that hasn't even come out yet, this is all speculation
White House officials said Friday that Obama’s budget would cut Medicare and Social Security and ask for less tax revenue than he has previously sought. The budget, to be released Wednesday, will fully incorporate the offer Obama made to House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) during December’s “fiscal cliff” talks — which included $1.8 trillion in deficit reduction through spending cuts and tax increases.

Why is it that EVERYTHING Obama does has a tax increase tied to it? The only way Obama will agree to spending cuts is if he gets a tax increase?
Here is a novel idea, since liberals are so gung-ho for a tax increase, how about we increase taxes on every registered Democrat? In fact, I would like to formally go on record that I fully support a 50% tax increase on every Socialist/Democrat/liberal in America. Go ahead liberal agenda, put your money where your mouth is. Show how much you support higher taxes by paying more out of your own pocket first. I already paid $19k in taxes this year (not counting sales tax, property tax, gasoline tax and every other freakin' way they have figured out to suck money out of me) and I am freakin' tired of getting up at 5:30AM every morning to go to work so that 15% of my income can go to so support someone else. Get your greedy little hand out of my paycheck.

Oh I overlooked this one...
It would pay for expanded access to pre-K (an Obama priority)
That is not access folks. It is a mandated requirement and yet another entitlement. Those who are on welfare or classified as low-income get first dibs on Pre-K spots (so apparently if you are gainfully employed your kids have no right to the program that your taxes pay for) and if you are on welfare, when your kid hits 3 years old you are required to put him or her in Pre-K or risk losing your benefits.

Duane, that's a great idea.
However, I do believe that should go both ways, fair?
So instead of tax cuts for the wealthy, how about they pay the same taxes as everyone else and every registered Republican can pay the difference back to the wealthy.

Your point is invalid. I am not arguing that wealthy should pay less or get tax cuts. The Obama tax increases will not affect the wealthy that much because there aren't that many wealthy people. There are 5.1 million millionaires in a country of 314 million and most of those people are millionaires because they own nice homes, businesses and real estate that makes them worth $1 million, not because they have big stacks of cash just sitting around. I repeat, there aren't that many wealthy people. It will affect the "nobody making under $250k" that he promised he would not raise taxes on back in 2008.
Using some more simple math. In 2010 the IRS collected $1.163 trillion in taxes. $60 billion a year in increased tax revenue represents a 5.1% increase over that. There is no way that it is coming from just the wealthy. The middle class will cover that.
