Yet Another High School Killing
I can't believe this one has gone unmentioned. A 14 year old male student attacked a 24 year old female teacher in the bathroom, punched her and then slit her throat. http://www.today.com/news/friends-sl...ter-8C11456578
Oh wait, now I know why it isn't headline news. He didn't shoot her with an "assault rifle" so nobody cares.

you are absolutely correct. This crime is so much more heinous, brutal, and up close and personal but since no one can jump on the "ban guns" bandwagon everyone glosses over it.

I rarely if ever hear ANYONE talking about banning guns.
Most people want Universal background checks and more attention given to mental illness.
Personally I don't care anymore about guns, this country is flooded with them and it's now become the norm to have mass shootings or school shootings every other week or so.
America doesn't want to do anything because anytime we talk about this issue the only people we hear are the extremists.
The gun nuts telling us that more guns is the solution and other people who start getting paranoid that the government is secretly trying to get their precious guns away.
It's a joke.
My motto on guns is "have fun killing yourselves"..... I literally don't care anymore.Last edited by JustAlex; 10-24-2013 at 03:03 PM.

Or maybe because single-person homicides have become so routine in this country that if every single one was given marquee coverage, then we'd have nothing but shootings in the news. Sadly it takes mass casualties to draw attention.
And btw, this was covered in mainstream news, as that's where I saw it. You gun "persecution" guys crack me up.

If the anti-gun extremists had their way guns would be banned no question hence their anti-gun view. You know that. You may not be hearing that because if anyone in politics backed banning guns entirely that is one step away from political suicide. But honestly Alex, why is your motto on guns so extreme? There are millions(?) of law abiding gun owners including myself who don't plan on killing myself or anyone for that matter. Your view is so old-fashioned. It's like thinking that everyone who rides a motorcycle is an outlaw. You are so right in the fact that we need tougher background checks and finding a better way to treat mental illness. that is one step in a better direction.

Really? Now every killing is going to be about gun control?
That's just unimaginative and sad.

Now if this young man is deemed mentally fit and he is just a wanna be gangster or such will the bleeding hearts be asking for rehabilitation? Or will the death penalty come into play.I am sure his age will disturb some

I feel that there is a common ground we can take on lowering these horrible shootings, but no one is prepared to do it because each side feels that they will in fact be losing the argument.
Meanwhile shootings are so common nowadays that the general public has become desensitized by it.
There was a horrible shooting earlier this week in Nevada where a 12 year old kid killed his teacher shot 2 other kids and then turned the gun on himself.
Why doesn't this happen in the same frequency in other first world countries?
Why is this only in America?
Because we have a gun culture, we have mentally ill people that don't get help, and we don't have a universal background check to better prevent these horrible tragedies.
If America doesn't want to solve this issue, then I why should I care? Why should I care about any of these shootings when the leaders do nothing about it.
Maybe my view is a bit too much when I say "Have fun killing yourselves"....but it's due to my frustration and utter disgust with this issue.
Sometimes I do feel like living in a country like Japan where guns are banned, where I don't have to worry about a place getting shot up.Last edited by JustAlex; 10-24-2013 at 06:40 PM.
