Just as a heads-up, the announcement is expect to be made tomorrow, according to my grapevine.

The hobbyists/collectors aren't going to like it. Those who are merely here for the money and constantly harp about their ROI probably will, unless it costs them a bunch of redemptions with the target of their hate.
The want list at this link features what I need of Gretzky, Roy, Ottawa Senators, and Miscellaneous sets. I also have a CFL want list on my page and if you have nothing from it I will consider other traders of current Ottawa Senators,Guy Lafleur, + trade bait.

Maybe I'm missing your point... Do hobbyists/collectors spend a lot of money on worthless items? I know I try not to. Most of the stuff I collect has value to me and, if I'm picking up something that's not for my PC, I want it to have value to someone else... A card isn't collectible just because it's produced, if it were, I'd be able to trade all the 90-91 Score and 90-91 UD sets/cards I have for Wayne Gretzky autographs, right? A 3200-ct box of $0.05 BV cards is $160 BV, heck, I would even put together 2 3200-ct boxes for a Gretzky auto - no problem (there might even be some $0.15 semi-stars/goalies in there)!

Why target hate at the guys who actually open the product? Without them, there aren't singles to trade for.

You missed the point. There are some of us who enjoyed opening the Panini products and some of us were also hoping that ITG was going to get a license. If you go back and read the thread you will see that many believe they are only getting a good ROI out of Upper Deck and that seems to be all that is important to them.

Piper its hard for me to open a Panini product knowing that the value isn't going to be there. Its hard to say that value isn't a factor when every deal that is made is either by beckett (BV) or ebay (SV).

When you say that ROI is all that matters to them it is a huge factor for most people. I buy mainly UD & ITG products. For some people dropping $100 on a box is big hit in their wallets. They know they have a better chance to get something big or more value from UD. So this is a huge factor when I buy boxes. Compare the Certified Rookie Auto Jerseys and the SPX Rookie Auto jerseys that were just released. Why would I buy a certified when I can buy SPX and get a lot more value? I sold a Nichushkin SPX for $62 on auction Certified on auction went for $14.50.

While I don't really have either company's side on this, I feel like a quote like this is the main issue that you see when people are clearly in support of one company rather than being fair to both. While mentioning that a Nichushkin Certified sold for $14.50, you chose to skim past the fact that the only other one sold for $50. Not only that, the $14.50 one was not an auction, it was a BIN listed at a steal of a price and was sold in under 3 hours. If you're going to compare the two, at least be fair (or I suppose, do your research if you want your comparisons taken seriously)

You are correct on that I thought it was an auction. I see a Nichushkin prime Rookie Jersey Auto /10 that sold for $53 on auction. Im talking about the regular ones which Would not sell over $30 at auction. Im not in favor of one company. I have opened a case of 11-12 Contenders as well as multiple single boxes of that product. I have opened a case of 11-12 certified. I have opened 4 boxes of select this year when it came out. I did a quick search and saw it wrong so I do apologize there.

The value isn't there for Panini because the demand isn't there. Why the demand isn't there? No idea, they make way nicer cards than UD.
