We are not discussing the validity of the call, only the intent of the player. Regardless of intent it's a penalty by the book anyway. Intent and outcome only impacts the severity of the penalty and any subsequent discipline.

Ah so we're using the force to determine what the player was thinking at the time. Excuse me one moment I will pop over to the Star Wars boards, borrow Yoda, and be right back. I mean it's not like there are arguments about the "intent" of actions of people (BLAKE GRIFFIN) sorry I have a nasty cough.

Actually there are arguments about the intent of actions. That's why words and phrases like "intent to injure" and "deliberate" exist with regards to rulebook terminology. It's pretty clear on the review that the hawks player had his leg planted well before the contact and made no attempt to avoid the leg check collision.

Jaroslav Halak would have made the save there. Blues made a big mistake going after Miller. Not only was it a big mistake it was baseless as Halak was a proven winner in St. Louis and had no good reason to need to be traded.
