Question Is it hard to trust the second party in a deal??

    Hi All,

Just started on SCF and have been looking over the site, trying to get comfortable here. Noticed long list of BAD TRADERS. When doing a deal with someone how do you put so much trust in someone you never dealt with, that they'll honor their part of deal. Any advice.

When I first started, I felt a similar feeling. What helped me was too deal with people that have higher feedbacks. If you look under your avatar on the post, there is a feedback score. You get one feedback per trade you do on here, and the other member involved in the trade can leave positive, negative, or neutral. Members with hundreds of positive feedbacks with no negatives are sure-fire going to be awesome to work with. They will show you the ropes. Also, try some low level deals (cards with low value) first to get a feel for it.

Don't let the bad traders list dictate your opinion for the site :) I've been on here for a long time, and I've yet to have a sour deal. It's an older site too, so that list has had years to get that large.

Feel free to shoot me, or another mod, a PM if you have any other questions!
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

If you feel iffy about making deals, limit yourself to US only trades...although $4 is more than it used to be to send cards, for $4, you can get a bubble mailer with a decent amount of cards with tracking...but you limit the hockey community to south of the border, whereas most of the trades I made in my time here has definitely been to Canada...Plus as stated above, only trade with those of us with higher feedbacks...

Deal with the good people, not the bad ones. LOL

As this is not a "Hockey Chat" topic, I'm moving this to a more general discussion area.

The list of bad traders is long because this site has banned and removed most of the bad traders. Not saying that everyone is 100% safe that's on here but it is never going to be that anywhere with anything. Just check the feedback (the higher the better) and deal with members who have been here (the longer they've been on here the better) and if a deal feels too good to be true or you are doing something you aren't comfortable just don't do it. If you follow those rules you will should be safe on here.
