How can one get a job in the sports card industry

So I have been involved in the sports card industry since I have been 5 years old, so about 25 years now. I love it, think about it every day, collect/buy/sell on ebay and shows, you name it, I love it. As time has gone on in my current profession, I grow more and more frustrated and just am not happy, but I know I don't have much other options because I need the health insurance and income. I have dreamed of getting involved in the sports card industry or quite some while(owning my own shop, selling boxes, having a table at the National, breaking online, pack wars, events, etc.) I am sure it is not going to ever happen in my life time, however I was curious if anyone on here currently does work for a sports card company or any company like Blowout or DAcardword or Steel City Etc. How did you get into that job and what would it take for someone like me to get into the field. I currently work at a college in PA, have 2 Master's Degrees, would say I am okay, but just dream of being in the sports card business. Any stories, or advice on how to start would be awesome.

    Thanks!

    Ken

You could also look at opportunities at card manufacturers. It's not the same as buying/selling but Panini, Upper Deck and the others surely have career opportunities within the industry. Marketing, manufacturing, design, etc. You could also look into grading companies as well.
