One man's votes for Massachusetts 11/4/2014

Election Day is Next tomorrow so let us look at the Massachusetts statewide ballot questions and I am voting
In alphabetical order and without the profanity laden hyperbole I usually use....

Charlie Baker the "Republican". Charlie would be a Moderate Democrat in 85% of the rest of the country. He has business experience and doesn't seem like a bad fella although as much as he gets his daughter involved in his campaign he wont sway many women his way

Martha Coakley - As simply as I can put it, she's a liar. She has an add touting how she "cares" about women and children. I beg to differ as my daughter is a woman and a child. When my daughter was almost killed by an illegal immigrant driver I called into a radio show where Coakley was taking questions. I asked her why she didn't do more to prosecute and deport illegals in Massachusetts. She replied that it was "Not my job". When I followed up with "I thought your job was to protect the citizens of Massachusetts. She said "It is." That it when I hung up on her.

Evan Falchuk- Independent. I like some of his ideas in the brief time I have heard from him.

Jeff McCormick- Independent. I have met Jeff and I like his message and I believe he is the best candidate and will be receiving my vote. The deciding factor in my voting for Jeff is his running mate, Tracy Post. Tracy is a great person and someone who cares about the people she represents. There isn't a phony bone in her body.

1 party rule in ANY form of government is bad no matter which party you follow.

    Ballot Questions

Question #1- Eliminating Gas Tax Indexing. The tax stands at 24 cents a gallon and the cowards running the state want to adjust it EVERY YEAR based on the CPI....oh yeah unless the CPI Goes DOWN. Tax CANNOT go below 21.5 cents a gallon. No Brainer- Vote yes to eliminate this stupidity.

Question #2- Expanding the Beverage Container Deposit Law. ...
A money grab. Plain and simple. They want to add a 5 cent deposit to bottles of water, sports drinks and basically anything that comes in a bottle.
People who recycle will continue to do so and those who don't will not. And the state will get all those unredeemed nickels. This actually may COST MORE if it passes. A NO Vote here.

Question #3 - Expanding Prohibitions on Gaming. This one is conflicting for me as I like to play poker and would really like to play closer than Connecticut. A YES vote would kill Casino plans in Mass and a NO vote would continue the plans currently in place.
It seems the politicians all want casinos but not in their area. The politicians in areas surrounding the casinos all want their kickbacks. Common sense would dictate that the casinos would take a bite of the Mass Lottery, the most successful in the country and all the commercials to vote NO are backed by unions. This leads me to vote YES on Question #3

Question #4- Earned Sick Time for Employees
No other state forces small business to give part time workers sick leave and the VAST majority of people use these days as personal days anyway. Sick time is a benefit not a right,.... Vote NO.

Martha Coakley may have been the worst democratic candidate to run since Mike Dukakis ran for president.
In a state where the CLOSEST a republican came to beating a democrat was 10 points.
A classic case, in the primary, of low information voters turning out.
Had Steve Grossman won the primary he would TROUNCED Charlie Baker. But the unions and the rest of the hackery backed Coakley.
Don't worry she has a patronage job waiting for her paying her a lot more than she is worth.

After yesterday's election results I'm beginning to think that Scott Brown was nothing and that his win over Coakley was more that anybody can beat her versus him being a good candidate. She has now basically thrown away 2 incredibly easy wins for Democrats in one of the most favorable states (maybe the most favorable) in the country. I honestly don't get why she can't win in Mass but she is god awful and I'm glad that she didn't win yesterday.

She cannot connect with anyone outside the union and hack base. There are HARDCORE democrats that I work with that would not vote for her.
