Must also be nice to be so full of themselves that they can pretend they have any idea what's going on.

Not like it's any of your business but I will tell you anyway. I read his post accusing me of insults and responded right away by quoting it asking. What insult? Only after doing that, did I read the posts that came after it where he explained the perceived insult? Nowhere did I get a personal invitation to talk in a PM about anything. So accusing me of missing that is absurd.

Thanks for contributing though. It's very productive of you.

WHOA WHOA MOUNTIE easy on the insults. Just because American politics is your hobby no need to throw insults.I asked for an explanation and even offered up you do it in a pm.You declined so either you do not have one or are not interested in engaging in a conversation with me. Either way your perogative. But we Americans can talk a little more about our politics because it affects us and it is not a hobby like it is too you folks up north.

This is phase 2 of the pseudo-intellectual's tactics. When faced with the insurmountable task of backing up their claim that everyone else is wrong and they are right they naturally revert to insults and degradations in a futile attempt to redirect attention away from their own lack of valuable input.

Phase 3 is elevating the insults and turning the discussion entirely away from the original purpose...I am sure this is forthcoming.

Phase 4 is either outright abandonment of the discussion in hopes that nobody will notice their utter failure to contribute anything of value or usefulness to the conversation or they pick a secondary subject that has come up and claim they have superior knowledge about it as a defense to prove that they were right and you were wrong on the original subject.

Not a single Liberal thinking person can answer this question or they don't want to do it.

I'll answer my own question....the liberal end game is government run everything with all the wealth redistributed as they see fit (except for theirs because they are exempt from being equal).

That's the thing, it's not that easy. My liberalness has no bearing on having a government run everything and redistributing the countries wealth.

Huh? AJC may have been offended by that post but I still fail to see where it was any sort of insult. An insult would be more like digging at someone about living in his mom's basement or having a pony tail and eating cheetos. or calling someone a mounty.

All quite possible, OR, from years of experience, they know who they are dealing with and understand the huge, impossible task it would be to get those individuals to see the light. Knowing all along that if/when they do finally see the light, they run and hide in the shadows rather than be shamed by their ignorance.

    Got any more?

Like so many definitions these days, it gets muddled in with other similar words then changed, altered and abused by both sides of the argument.

Many on the left will tell you that liberals and democrats are absolutely the same with the same agenda, which is not true and has not been true throughout our political history (though they are clearly closer to democrats than they are to republicans).

The right will throw out words similar to those above - like socialism, which is clearly nonsense and even more inaccurate than the lefts viewpoint.

Liberal to me is a true doctrine of personal choice and rights surrounding those choices, regardless of the views of the populous. I believe this group to be far more concerned with the rights of the people and their opportunity to move throughout the class ladder - and making sure that everyone has the same opportunity. Economy and fiscal policy are of secondary importance but when discussing these idioms the central factor is certainly different than the right but not in the standard retort of propping up the low end of society. What is more important to the liberal is the fact that our country is driven from a cultural and economic standard by our middle class - they operate to provide as much value and opportunity to the middle class as possible.

Personally, I believe in a fair amount of their doctrine but think they also fall short in a few areas...as all dogmatic political groups are going to do.

Then again, it seems less and less that those engaged in political commentary these days step outside of whatever their side tells them they should be supporting. To me, they are all flawed, but they all have benefits. Too bad people want to spend time in rhetoric and internal bashing when everyone involved is (generally) focused on the advancement of the United States.

    This is a great post.

that's a pretty big topic range. I'm not even sure where to start. I'm definitely a fan of capitalism and individual wealth but I'm also for helping less fortunate and I think there is a place for social programs that help people who need it paid for by tax dollars. Obviously there is a lot of waste and corruption when it involves tax money so I'm not sure the perfect way to run said programs. Even if you privatize those and other programs such as the USPS you'll open yourself up for fraud. I'm definitely against religion being used for legislation and fall more in line with people being free to do as they please than restricting them based off of what we typical deem as normal. As far as other specific ideals you want to know ask away.
