02-22-2015, 06:15 PM #3LOOK FOR THE DONRUSS BRAND STAPLE RATED ROOKIE CARDS FROM THE STRONGEST ROOKIE CLASS IN MORE THAN A DECADE!
Haven't been really paying attention to basketball for the past decade but is this true? I know the rookie classes have been weak lately but don't know enough to see if that's true or not. And how would everyone rate the rookie class this year so far?Selling All My Cards Here------>Hidden Content

The rookie class was vastly overhyped, and I was saying that from before the draft. Still, it's probably above average overall. Not surprised Panini would try to capitalize on the hype, regardless of its realism.

Injuries haven't done the rookie class any good. It still has the potential to be a great one with most of the players really young.

I was going to say the same thing! Let's look at the lottery picks.
1. Wiggins is a shoe-in for ROY after Jabari went down. Kid seems like the real deal unlike his teammate, Bennett.
2. Parker lost for the season to an injury not even halfway through the season. Still tons of potential though
3. Embiid missed his whole rookie season due to injury but that didn't scare Phili from drafting him @ #3. Possible weight issues surfaced at 1 point.
4. Gordon haven't heard anything much about him.
5. Exum I don't think has lived up to his hype but I still see potential.
6. Smart I like the kid. I think he's the PG of the future for the Celts but the question is if they feel the same way.
7. Randle lost for the season due to a horrific injury in the FIRST game of his career. Potential still there but odds are against him.
8. Stauskas wasn't he reportedly on the block by the Kings at one point during the season? Shows how much they love him.
9. Vonleh was lost to injury to start the season too, right? Haven't heard much about him.
10. Payton I like the kid but just seems like a poorman's TJ Ford and with much less offensive game
11. McDermott I was expecting him to be making a case for ROY but can't even get burn. Potential still there but cmon Dougie McBuckets!
12. Saric hopefully doesn't turn out to be a reincarnation of Fran Vasquez for Phili
13. LaVine impressed the heck out of me in the Dunk contest. Lots of potential, needs to fill out his body though, I think at least.
14. Warren, see #4 Aaron Gordon..
As for the rest of the draft... #27 Bogdanovic, #32 McDaniels are the only guy's who have made some "noise" this season. The rest, to me, haven't made any kind of impact but I think it's better to judge player's in their 2nd year. #35 Stokes get's an "honorable" mention because he got into a fight with HIS teammate on the Grizzlies D-League team DURING a game. Wow, that's promising! As of right now this draft class doesn't seem as a standout to me. But still tons of time for that to change..but right now...nope.

Aaron Gordon missed a few games earlier this season with an injury similar to what Durant is going through. Smart was injured for a while too and with the C's trading for Isaiah, that doesn't help. McBuckets has done nothing since his injury, probably not his fault. I've watched a heap of Magic games, Elfrid can be something in this league. He tends to be hesitant with his limited offensive game but his defensive effort and passing abilities make up for it. At least he can work on his jump shot and probably become a better Rondo.
Wiggins will be a star though, Jabari too.
Donruss is a nice product though. Good to see in game photos being used. There needs to be more of this.Last edited by AndyG23; 02-23-2015 at 02:23 AM.
