Sowith my recent contest win with the Meigray Group in the amount of $1000, Idecided to add a new goalie piece to the museum of a proven winner. In fact, Iwas surprised that they've had this non-consignment jersey in stock for solong, but I happily liberated it from them.

JeanSebastien Giguere, born on May 16, 1977 in Montreal, Quebec, was a highlytouted prospect and all-star from the QMJHL, and he was noticed so much so thatthe Hartford Whalers selected him 13th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Hemade his NHL debut on December 12, 1996 against Ron Hextall, and thePhiladelphia Flyers, falling 3-2 in the process. He played an additional sevengames with the Whalers that year. After the franchise relocated to Carolina,Giguere spent a year in the minor leagues, and then he was acquired by theCalgary Flames in the 1998-99 season, in exchange for Gary Roberts and TrevorKidd. Giguere appeared in 15 games for the club that year to start out theseason before he was relocated to the Flames' AHL farm team. He then suited upfor another seven games with the Flames in 1999-00, before getting his breakand being traded to Anaheim. There, Giguere quickly became the startinggoaltender, leading the team to within one win of the Stanley Cup in 2003(though he did win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP), and also winning theStanley Cup with them in 2007 against Ottawa. In 2009-10, he was traded toToronto and remained there until the end of the 2010-11 season. From 2011-12until 2013-14, Giguere played with the Colorado Avalanche before finallyretiring from hockey. In his NHL career, Giguere appeared in 597 regular seasongames, recording a 262-216-75 record with 38 shutouts, seven points, a 2.53GAAand a 0.913% save average. Additionally, in 52 playoff games, Giguere recordeda 33-17 record with six shutouts, a 2.08GAA and a 0.925% save average.

Thefollowing jersey you are looking at is a set 1 of 1 road jersey worn by Giguerein the 1998-99 Flames' season, that saw game action nine times, recording a 3-5-1record, including his first career tie-game. The wear is reasonable and it is abeautiful addition to the museum.
