    David Pastrnak = Tomas Hertl...???

Lot of money and hype being showed for another 40-50 point player....
Some of it is a little mind boggling since Bruins suffocate their forwards more than the nhl does.

There will be lot of similarities in this time line. ..

    Cue....He's only 18 lines...

What do you think his potential is?
Is Hertl finished or just needs better minutes?

Who knows what his potential is but he's a first round pick and is showing to be productive in the NHL at 18.

Hertl is older, bigger, and playing with a far stronger forward group. He's a natural C playing behind the best C group in the NHL. Not sure I see any similarities other than they both went in the 1st round and both are Czech.

LOL, the kid is 21 years old. He's no Dhalin, I get that, but let's give him till 25 before we write off his career.

    ^This

80% of his hype was from one game, his 4 goal night against the Rangers. Had that 4 goal night never happened he wouldn't have half the hobby love he had and he wouldn't have been one of the bigger rookies nor would he have been chosen to be one of the Cups /99 rookies.

Amazing what one game can do for a player, sort of like when Gagners prices were going 3-4 times their going rate when he had that 8 point night. People need to stop going crazy every time somebody has a big game or two and just wait it out.

Hertl had 25 points in 37 games, good for third among rookies in points-per-game (behind only MacKinnon and Palat). Even if you remove his four goal game and pretend it never happened, he was scoring at roughly the same pace as Tyler Johnson, who was a finalist for the Calder.

Hertl injury and 3rd/4th line minutes don't help him ...but not sure when he'll get a better chance again...

David Pastrnak will be a 50-60 point player, especially when he starts playing with Krejci full time and they develop some chemistry. That being said, scoring 50-60 points on the Bruins is like scoring 75 points on any other team lol. The kid is crazy skilled, poised and tenacious, especially for being the youngest player in the NHL but Claude Julien will never give any one forward enough offensive freedom to go out and pile up points...his system is all about team defense, forechecking, geting pucks deep etc. That's why the B's always have a bunch of 45-60 point players and no 70, 80 or 90 point players.

What's the point of paying $1000+ for a 55 point player...???
That's what his cup rc will go for if /99 which it will be...
