2015 Upper Deck SPA: 3 box break

With the college deal coming to an end for Upper Deck, I could not resist one more try at a Upper Deck basketball product. Ended up busting three boxes plus seven packs as I needed an extra auto to fill out a page in my autograph book.

Some of the autographs were of people nobody in the local knew, and in case you don't know I hit two sign of the times autos and both were stickers.

Anyway, with this break I went out with something of a bang, no Jordan or LeBron or even a Magic or Bird but at least I hit something I was pleased with.

Up first is a First for me. I have never hit one of the cards, EVER

Nice to finally hit a Jambalaya card.

I wanted to hit a rookie auto patch and unlike past year's SPA basketball at least in the case our local got, there WAS NOT an autograph patch in each box as in past years.

Hit one with on card auto

And the card that made the break for was this card. It came in the same box as the Jambalaya card.

I am no Duke fan or a Laettner fan but he did make one of the most famous shots in the history of college basketball so going out with this auto is kind a big deal for me:

Authentic Moments and it sure was:

Please note that while getting this card is super, the picture of Laettner shooting the ball is NOT AGAINST KENTUCKY but against North Carolina. Laettner hit his shot over Deron Feldhaus and John Pelphrey, NOT Chilcutt.

So in some ways this is an error card, I would guess you could call it that.

I don't know if this is the end of the chase of Upper Deck basketball but it has been fun for the most part.

    Good luck with your breaks

Perfect timing for the Duke pulls! Loving that Laettner. Are there odds for the jambalayas? I know they were super rare in older products.

I looked at cardboardconnection and they didn't even have he Jambalayas listed in the checklist. Beckett had the same pictures that were posted on Upper Deck facebook page but no odds were given?

Not a clue, I found that the autographed Moments cards are 1:252 packs which would make them 1 every 12.6 boxes.

UD said the card was just an error and would not be corrected.
