Come on Panini...
I can see them mixing up the autographs with the wrong player (Aaron Gordon, Adrian Payne) or inserting a jersey piece from a completely different team, all card companies have done that, but come on, using a photograph of a different player altogether?

THAT"S AN IMAGE OF MICHAEL KIDD GILCHRIST!

Now, to be fair, Getty Images captioned this image as PJ Hairston, but would it hurt Panini to do a little research?
Here's another example:

They have done one of either two things here. 1. Placed the images of each player in the wrong position. 2. Placed the player names in the wrong position. Either way, it's forced the players to sign next to the picture of their brother.
Seriously, it takes 30 seconds to google a player.

I heard a rumor Topps hires people who know absolutely nothing about sports to put together the cards and whatnot on the factory line so they don't steal stuff. I don't know how true that rumor is but I wonder if other companies to that as well and that's why we sometimes see these sloppy mistakes.

Player mixup? Not just Panini. Fleer/SkyBox indeed made a player mistake at least twice; here is a Nate McMillan 1990-91 SkyBox card with Olden Polynice's picture on the back:
Another is from 1999-00 Hoops Decade where Shandon Anderson's picture is on the back of a Michael Dickerson card:
There might be others, but these two I both have in my collection and remember for sure.

No competition and this is what happens. I bet nothing will be done by Panini. Then again why should they? Who do they have to answer to? Nobody.
Did they really mix up Gordon and Payne's autos? Or was that just an example?

I believe the actual production of the cards does take place overseas, but the designing is done in the US isn't it?
They're printing errors though and back then when cards were mass produced was bound to happen. Here they used a pic of a teammate thinking it was the player.
Search for their paramount autos, the ones signed on the black cardboard. They inserted Gordon's autos into Paynes card and vica versa. If I remember correctly, they labelled these as on card too!

The Dickerson one looks like it could have been a printing error, but the McMillan one isn't. They used a pic of a teammate thinking it was the player - same thing as Panini.

Ah, you're right there. Surely they could get it right for the front of an autographed card though? Plus, MKG isn't even in this set since it's a rookie set.

Panini botched early issue Alvan Adams card, wasn't even him on the card. Also they mixed up Campy and Cazzie Russell on a few sets. Also Doc Rivers and Maurice Cheeks I believe in an Atlanta issue.
