    OT question

Question for the auto vets out there.... Hypothetical situation. If you lived near a former sports star, would you knock on his door and ask for an auto?

If I lived near a former sports star I'd rather befriend him/her 1st and then invite them to see your collection. Conveniently leave out a card /jersey/etc. of theirs and when they come upon it while looking at your stuff, see if they offer to sign it.

Or send your kid over to mow their lawn and bring him/her a beer to share w/ you.

I've debated this one too, as I know multiple former players who live near me. Never quite pulled it off, however
