Awesome set man! I also began collecting the base set back when it was first released, I was fortunate enough to pull the Thornton and a Gold Yzerman but got out of collecting for 13 years. When I got back in the hobby I got back to searching out the rest of the triples I needed and after a few years I finally completed the set.

For you to put together the Gold set is absolutely incredible! I have thought about it now and then but never have.

I have the Run For The Cup Sundin but not sure if I'd part with it.

The biggest "WHALE" subset I have ever tried or attempted is still incomplete.

The 2004-05 ITG Ultimate 5 "Blades of Steel" subset. It was stockpiled with vintage player goodness. Of the 21 cards in the set, the only more current player in the set was Lemieux. All cards were serial numbered to 25 except for four cards that were limited to only 10. And I highly doubt I will ever complete it just due to the three players I have left...including 2 of the #/10 cards (see below). With two being Cyclone Taylor and Georges Vezina, the odds after 10 years are not good. Those are probably locked up in collector/hoarder collections. But Hey...I just completed a 2000-01 ITG All-Star Ticket 10-card subset recently....so never say never Yogi!

This year's Ultimate Memorabilia had a fantastic Super Swatch Patch subset. 3 Silver and 1 Platinum card of each player - 14 players. I'm down to needing one - Bobby Hull which I just missed out on a copy in Alberta.
