It's funny you'd think upper deck would be extra careful with the most desirable card in this set. Looking on eBay it seems like the split is 50/50. I wouldn't mind getting one cut the other way just as a variant

Yw I have both version's so I want to be sure I send the right one to Upper Deck because I know how hard it is trading for a Matthews YG, I want to be sure I have the good one so I don't have to try and get it again lol. I contacted UD to ask them just to make sure i'm right but from my comparing it looks like the one on the left is the correct version, of course i'm not 100% sure but they should know for sure so I will post what they say once I hear from them

I have both versions so I guess I am covered either. I guess the wrong one, I can put it with my Error Dale Murphy reverse card from many, many years ago.

I had 11 of them graded. The one on the right would grade a 9.5. The one of the left I didn't have. All of mine had either just the T or a sliver of the O in the writing.

I didn't get a 10 rating on any of my cards for centering so not sure what that actually is.

I agree with ReimerFan. Here's mine that graded a 9.5

It's very very odd that there is so many of each version out there, I collect YG's so I want to make sure I have the right one in my PC. The only other issue I had with any yg's that i got from them before was the Nathan MacKinnon with the pink flare on his shoulder, had to get that one replaced as well. This one is very hard to notice compared to that yg though lol. Most wouldn't even notice unless they saw them side by side or they had it explained like I did to everybody

To confirm..we think the one with the start of extra lettering after the SC on the boards is correct?

Im going with yes. I just visited a local seller and he had an uncut sheet of young guns that has two full sets on it. Both of the uncut Matthews had the extra letter piece

Any way you look at it either 1 of them is nice to have. Just have to wait and see which 1 is the right one.

That's very interesting, thanks for sharing that info! I probably won't hear back from UD until Monday about it. Judging by the comparison I did with other yg's from the set and the uncut sheet that YoungGuns shared i'm pretty sure the one with more letters on the back boards is the correct one

Odd thing for me is that a off-center, or miscut card usually has a portion of the image from another card on one edge. With this card you only have one image, though it is slightly right-shifted. Without the second example, you might never realize there is a difference
