Amazing things that I have seen. Part 1.

As a teenager in high school I was very lucky to be a small part of a very good baseball team. Due to an abundance of uniforms I got a spot on the team. I got to take a few "at bats" and play some in the outfield. My biggest contribution to the effort was to help make sure our equipment got back on the bus after the game. Whatever! I was given a chance to play a little and I loved it. One day I was in my usual good seat in the dugout watching our team in the field. The other team had runners on first and second. That batter got some wood on one and sent a liner past the pitcher. Our shortstop was a small fellow who was very quick, he sprang to his left, jumped, and made the catch. The batter was out. As he came down his foot lands on second base. The runner from second, who was going on the pitch, was out. Now our shortstop is head on with the runner from first, who was also running on the pitch. Just that fast our shortstop put the tag on the runner and he was out. All this was so fast it took me a bit to figure out what I had just saw. An unassisted triple play! I turned to the player sitting next to me " Did you see that?" I said. "Yep" he said. "A triple play?" said I. "Nope" said he. "Pay attention, we allready had one man out!" No matter it is still one of the best plays I ever saw. I will have more to come in part two, about an amazing play that I made. Yeah thats right me, of all people. Stay tuned.
