Well it has been a fun filled pull my hair out couple of weeks since we moved to our new retail location in Ajax First off lets say that this is a terrible time to be selling cards unless you have something very rare or of some big name like RNH. We are seeing some horrible selling prices on eBay for new stuff just pulled with the exception of my noted comment previously.

We recently sold $11,000 worth of hockey cards, all autos, jerseys or inserts for a whopping $1,100 What a disappointment. The first lot worth about $5,000 included a RNH YG RC, 2 Cody Hodgson rookies plus a YG Canvas. It had 92 cards all YG RC or Canvas from 11-12 plus a pile of autos and jerseys and sold for $650 about 13% of book. The second lot worth about $6500 consisted of cards from $6 to $40 each all BAP, SPGU, SPA and SPx. It sold for $450 which is about 7% of book. Disgusting We will no longer be offering these lots or the deals that we usually offer because of the extreme beating we took on these deals. If you can't sell high quality lots for at least 25% of book why bother doing it Our charities took a beating on this one and it makes me wonder why we try to help people out when they come in to sell their stuff to us and then complain about what we offer.

Anyway on the good side it seems that the new Panini Prime Hockey is going to be a big hit. We are already hearing about price increases from the distributors as early as within a week to ten days of release. The product looks awesome and we have highlighted several examples from this product on our Facebook page. Due out on August 17th and selling for approx. $190 a 5 card pack. Nobody is talking about UD Ultimate due out on the 7th which at this point dioesn't surprise me. The consensus chatter going on in the store over the past couple of weeks is that Panini has surpassed Upper Deck as the hockey card company in the number one spot. It would be hard to argue with that as SPA sold and got crapped on and Rookie Anthology is still going strong. Can't wait to see Prime and Dominion looks like a winner too. Oh yes let us not forget about The Cup which I got a sneek peek at yesterday. The Cup Rookies look great and I like the card design but will it be enough to save Upper Deck's bacon
