Desert Storm Autograph Project

Rate this Entry
I enjoy collecting autographs, and have mostly collected them from athletes, celebrities and politicians, but I now want to try to put more time, effort and focus into getting more military autographs. I have hundreds of Desert Storm trading cards I would like to get autographed, so that's going to be my main focus for now, but I will add other kinds of military autographs to my collection too.

During the past couple years I have gotten a Desert Storm card autographed by Gen.Colin Powell and one signed by for secretary of state, James Baker. During the past 1-2 months, I've gotten them from a few other's including Gen.Tommy Franks, and Adm.Charles Abbot. That has really motivated me to branch off from traditional autographs, and into the military autograph realm.

As I was doing some thinking, I thought about how cool it would be if someone collected military autographs from a war like World War II. It would be amazing to look at a collection of autographs from military leaders, and regular military personnel from that time period. It would be a interesting piece of history.

So instead of just getting autographs from high ranking people from Desert Storm, I'm going to try to get autographs from as many Desert Storm veterans as I possibly can. So if you or someone you know served in the military during 1990-1991, and would be willing to autograph a card for me, please contact me. If you flew airplanes, I'll send you an airplane card, if you were the man/woman that put fuel in tanks, during the war, I'll send you a card of that that tank to sign, and so on. It doesn't matter what your job was, I'm interested in getting your autograph! I'll send 1 or more cards, and a self-addressed stamped envelope, so all you would need to do is sign the card with a permanent marker, maybe blow on it for a couple seconds so it won't smear, put it inside of the smaller envelope which will already have my mailing address and stamp on it, remove the pull tab, press it shut, and send it in the mail when you have the time.
