2010 National - Recap

Rate this Entry
So this is well over due but, I would like to share my personal experience at the 2010 National. My original plan was just to attend the show one day on Saturday. But, I was able to work out with Don and Tony to be able to have a very large spot between their 2 booths. I had never met anyone from this board ever and to say the least, I was a little unsure of what I was getting myself into.

As soon as I got there I was greeted by Dan who helped my right away. Big ups to Dan on that one. Our spot, if you did not already know was probably directly in the middle of the entire show. As soon as I got there and was set up I had the immediate urge to just walk around. Sure, I missed a bunch of sales BUT I had never even been to a national, I had to do it. Saturday was a great day at the show; met up with a lot of old friends and made a ton of new ones. I do all of my local shows in the Philadelphia metro area so I wasn't sure what people would be looking for. Believe me, everyone was looking for something different. Saturday came and went very quickly. I know the other guys were kinda tired of being there since tuesday / wednesday but, I wish the day would have been longer! I made my way to my hotel that night about 10 minutes away in Glen Burnie MD, it was nothing special but, it was only $60 after taxes and fees and it was set up like a suite / apartment and the area was very nice.

Sunday was a much slower day for sales but again, I did my fair share of walking around again. Still was pretty slow though. I was able to pick up a bunch of last minute deals on wax that day. Unfortunately I didn't pull a card worth more than $20-$30. Surprisingly I was able to sell a SP Derek Fisher auto fro $20 dlvd. I was also able to see everyone else breaking their wax om Sunday including GARTH from Austrailia! I was even able to pursuede him to sell me a Tyreke auto.

I went back to philly Sunday night thoroughly exhausted. I have no clue how those guys last there all week. I'm sure they were able to get set in more like home right there at the hotel.

All in all I would definitely do it again. Not sure if Chicago will be worth it unless I stock up all year then am able to get a killer deal on a hotel.

Well its off to watch Entourage!
