Former NFL player Reggie Cobb dies of apparent heart attack at age 50

    https://www.profootballrumors.com/20...ggie-cobb-dies

49ers scout Reggie Cobb died Saturday morning of an apparent heart attack, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He was 50. Cobb had been with the 49ers for more than 10 years.

Following a lengthy NFL career as a running back, Cobb entered the scouting profession. He broke into the field as a Redskins scout in 2001 and joined the Buccaneers — the team that drafted him in 1990 — after two years in Washington. Cobb found his way to San Francisco after working as a southwest-area scout for the Bucs.

A second-round pick out of Tennessee, Cobb enjoyed a four-season run as the Bucs’ starter. In 1992, he rushed for a career-high 1,171 yards and nine touchdowns. He signed with the Packers in 1994 and spent a year as their starter, wrapping up his career — which included 3,743 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns — after playing the 1995 season with the expansion Jaguars and the 1996 campaign with the Jets.

    lol

That's where I remembered him and a lot of these guys from. I didn't really watch football back then but I played that game all the time and I know all the best players on every team. Cobb was the RB on the Bucs and one of the few bright spots for that team. A couple of the teams were terrible and almost impossible to win with and the Bucs were one of the worst. Jets/Pats/Saints were all garbage too.

I'd argue that the Pats and Browns were the absolute worst in the game, followed closely by the Colts. The Saints were saved by having Craig Heyword (basically a clone of Reggie Cobb in stats) and had decent linebackers with Ricky Jackson and Sam Mills. The return game though, that was the best in the game due to a programming glitch. The return guy would take the speed of the right tackle (on punts it takes the strong safety). The Saints have the fastest right tackle in game and if you put that speed on Heyword he was an absolute beast.

    Good ol Tecmo!
