    Question

I just won a KG 1995 Finest RC, and it doesn't have the coating on it. It is still NM-MT. Will it keep its original BV?

No because true collectors value it only with the wrapping on it. Your card is not worthless just "worth less" if you understand what I'm saying. I have no idea exactly how much it loses but my guess is somewhere around 25% to 50% of its bv.

S.O.B. He should've at least said that when I won it. I bought it for more than the BV. No + feedback from me.

Yes I agree. The seller shouldn't be able to get away with selling a card that is by defination "damaged" and get a positive feedback for not advertising it that way.

Definately do it if they advertised the card as mint.

It feels wrong to leave him negative. He was a nice guy when I talked to him. I might just leave him neutral. I'm undecided.

I think it still maybe classifed as mint. I read in a beckett mag that this is one of their most asked questions. The article said that a card with or without does not affect the condition when graded.

The purpose of the coating is to protect the card. Sometimes without coating the card will stick to other cards and the surface may get damaged. I'll try finding the article around. Anyway hope its been some help.

If the surface is still perfect, it is still considered mint.
