My father-in-law made some homemade salsa this year that is KILLER. It's not too hot, just cayenne and jalapeno (he has a very hot one, but I haven't tried it yet), but the flavor is amazing. I was uber impressed.

I am a big fan of spice, but I'm not a fan of "hot" for the sake of "hot". Example, when you go to some wing place where they have some sauce like "MegaThermoNuclearAtomic", it generally has zero flavor, unless pain and heartburn are considered flavors.

However, Buffalo Wild Wings has the Mango Habanero sauce. Perfect. Hot, but with actual taste.

Also, Tabasco is alright until I turned on to the wonders of the Rooster Sauce.

I used this for everything cooking: marinades, rubs, etc. Plus it's awesome for noodles or eggs or just about anything else.

Oh, and if you are a fan of hot: Extra hot horseradish on sandwiches.

Exactly how I feel. Some places give you a chemical burn before you even have a chance to taste anything...that kind of crap is for frat boys who want to show how tough they are. I prefer something I will actually enjoy eating.

Haha. I used that stuff too. On noodles, soups, pizzas, hotdogs, and this Vietnamese noodle soup dish called "pho". It taste kind of sweet on dry food, but put it in dish containing liquid, it becomes fiery hot.

I am a huge lover of the spice, i totally love habanero sauces, not much for tabasco sauces too lame for me. I have always wanted to try a ghost chili or the "Bhut Jolokia" until I read this quip on it "An entire chili is an all-out assault on the senses, akin to swigging a cocktail of battery acid and glass shards"

I don't do well with spicy. I like to enjoy my food. LOL

For you guys that love spicy, you should check out a show called Man vs. Food on the travel channel. He's had some challenges where he eats from majorly spicy dishes. I've seen him eat a spicy curry where the chef had to where a respirator mask just to prepare it. He's also tackled a super spicy hamburger and ramen noodles. I think there's a spicy tuna roll challenge he's done as well.

Love Man v. Food...of course I love almost all of the shows that combine travel and food, my two favorite things in the world. Ok, 2 of my 3 favorite things.
