2011 Goodwin Champions Break 2 Box Break
This is my first post and thought I would make it about the break I just finished of 2 Goodwin Champions boxes I picked up today at the LCS. I am normally just a baseball guy, but the previews of this set looked enticing and I wanted to try it out. The main draw for me was the chance at pulling one of the hand painted presidential portraits. I am more interested in one of those than I am any of the autos. It also didn't hurt that the lcs where I purchased the boxes received the original oil painting of Troy Aikman from Upper Deck. They are going to have a drawing for it in about three weeks. You get one ticket for every box purchased. A nice additional chance associated with this set.
Anyway, on to the break:
Box 1 (The Hits)
Steve Carlton Auto
Steve Young Relic (jersey)
Johnny Miller Relic (shirt)

Box 2 (The Hits)
C. J. Hobgood Auto
Kyle Skipworth Relic (jersey)
Manny Machado Relic (jersey)

I pulled 138 of the base set and nothing of note in the minis.
Not off the charts by any stretch, but I was pretty pleased with the Carlton auto. It is my first HOF auto. I might keep it for my PC, not sure yet. All of the rest will be FT or FS. Still trying to decide if I want to buy another box or 2. I would really like one of those presidential portraits.

Jerad, are you talking cash or trade? Do you have any Gypsy Queen? If you have Gypsy Queen I will talk possible trade for wants I have from that set. If not, I will sell it. LMK what you are offering.

You got some nice relics there and the Carlton auto isn't bad. Like you said, not crazy, but not a horrible break either.

You obviously shop at Nick's. If you'd like to do a local deal/sale for your autos (I'm going to attempt to put the auto set together, as well as the basic minis), let me know. I bought a case and then 4 more boxes, so I have plenty to trade if interested. Perhaps I'll run into you at Nick's!

Bill, you are correct. I do shop at Nick's. went there the first time last Sunday (6/26) and have been back twice in the past two (2) days to pick up the boxes of Goodwin Champions. I will also be back in there next Saturday (7/9) for the drawing on the auto jerseys.
I was shorted an auto and a Figures of Sport card on the 3rd box of Goodwin Champions I busted. Hopefully UD will make it right. Other than the two (2) autos listed above I pulled a Gretchen Bleiler. I'm kind of 50/50 on whether or not I want to part with the Carlton. I will be glad to make a local deal. Would love to meet ya. LMK what you are willing to offer on the autos. Have a great 4th.

Since you are trading the relic for inserts I will do 2 for 1 in value. So you can pick whichever ones you like that will make the trade add up as such. Thanks for the trade.
