July 1: The Day Hockey Ruled the World
On July 1, 2011, the sports world will be turned upside down.
Hockey will rule the world.
The NFL has been on strike for more than 100 days, and continues to burn the airwaves with reports of "hope." Yet players are still running around in unofficial practices, and rookies haven't legally seen a playbook yet.

At one point yesterday, Erik Cole was trending higher on Twitter than #HappyCanadaDay up here. I think it goes to show how much we Habs fans love spreading the good news. LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

UFA Day was awesome.
First I took the family to Winnipeg (three days). We spent three hours at Assiniboine Park, two hours at the forks and 6 hour at a family BBQ.
Today we are shopping for a few hours, going to KP water park, and then Goldeyes (AA ball) game at 6.
I’m going to visit the Al at his shop, and then head back to Brandon after the ball game.
I watched the movers and shakers on TSN late last night. Nothing impressed me!
Pretty sure it’s been proven time and again, UFA do not solve problems. And almost always the team who signs the big numbers fail.
Bring on the baseball game, it’s summer.

You make me sound like a tourist.
I was posted to 2 PPCLI from 1990-2004. My wife is a Garden City Lady. My Kids were born there.
Brandon, is just a stop over until I figure out what I'm doing with my small business.
I've been a Gold Eyes fan since 94, and The New Ball Park was created because of all my ™™™™™in to Sam while they (Gold Eyes) played at the Stadium.
lol, I remember the day when Darryl Strawberry was trying to make a come back with the Yankees. They sent him to St Paul and he was coming to Winnipeg, they must of sold 20K seats at the Stadium, only to have him called up to NY. I was so excited. I'm a Mets fan and he was da Man.
Funny now, all my favourites from the 86 team were a bunch of Dopers. I've never looked a ball player the same. They're just people with high paying jobs who sometimes make very poor decisions.
FYI- 4 weeks until retirement, I have a number of business meeting sin Winnipeg, what do you collect? I shut down my trader site as I am selling most of my Habs collection, but I still have thousands of traders. We could do an in person trade at Tim Hortons beside Superstars. Laters
Waste of time, that should be spent with your kids and family. The highlights will do the exact same thing for ya.Last edited by sholi2000; 07-03-2011 at 08:08 AM.
