One of the greats on the court and I will always consider him a Laker and could care less about the kobe/shaq trash that went one. He was an unstoppable monster in his prime and deserves to have his jersey retired in LA and be inducted into the HOF. BUT, I don't think he will make much of TV personality. He has no charisma off the court.

so you think he has what it takes to be an on air TV sports personality? He is a great player, but that doesn't always translate into a great commentator.

He does have charisma, he is funny. I see him as a funnier Charles Barkely, just with a better golf swing, lol. As far a commentator, I don't know how that will go. I was just saying he does have charisma, maybe not for commentating, halftime and pre/post game...yes sir!

Well Barkley was very dull at first. It took him awhile to warm up to the witty banter of the commentators. I am actually surprised he lasted as long as he did. But he has developed a very dry humor that many people don't get (my self included much of the time). But Shaq, I dunno, he just has no charm, no wit. I mean he did that Nick Nolte basketball movie and he was terrible in it, he does those icy hot commercials and he is terrible as well. Maybe I am wrong and he will be great, but I just don't see it. He just has this "thuggish" persona.

Shaq may be one of the most personable, charismatic athletes ever to play the game...I can't think of a more entertaining (in a good way; not TO or OchoCinco) athlete. Definitely looking forward to him on TNT!
