Lightning Will Have Tesla Coils Installed
The St Pete Times Forum is undergoing a 35M+ dollar renovation this offseason. Funded completely by new owner Jeff Vinik.
He is replacing every single seat, including the terrace level, with plush leather seats with cupholders. He is enhancing the lighting to make it one of the best lit arenas in the NHL. He is remodeling every single suite and all the floors. He is adding a party deck on the roof with terrace level access. He is building a grand entrance way on the west side of the Forum. Among many many other things.
But out of all of these things, and believe me all are amazing, the thing that caught my attention was this:
Another signature addition will be Tesla coils on either side of the scoreboard that will shoot lightning 25 feet.
"How can you be named the Lightning and not have a signature effect in the building?" Leiweke said.

Wow this should be amazing. Tesla coils shooting Lightning bolts from the scoreboard whenever the Lightning score, 25 feet outward and upward is going to be an awesome effect!
Us TB fans hit the lottery when Vinik bought the team. Hes been nothing short of amazing for not only the team but the area as well.

One of the signs of a first-class organization is how it treats its fans and creates an atmosphere at the game. After years of, shall we say, goofy ownership that was more concerned with which partner got to be the boss that week, the Tampa organization is really stepping to the forefront as a truly first-rate outfit. The hiring of Yzerman was a major move for them, and they've further enhanced their standing with the Stamkos re-signing.
This is a team that is going to go places, and now it's going to be an even better experience for those who are along for the ride.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Vinik seems to be an owner who's out to prove that hockey can survive in the southern states.
