Who buys those cards on ebay for $500+ dollars.
Who are these people that pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for a card. I just don't see really rich people being card collectors. Really rich people have better things to do with their time and money then to collect cards. What am I missing?

Many wealthy people have nothing but time on their hands. I know many wealthy people who spend tens of thousans of dollard on art/cars/collectibles just because they like spending money on a hobby!

You have NO IDEA the amount of money a person would spend on antique furniture. A chair that is so fragile, you couldn't even sit in it. But the buyer must have it because it looks so fabulous. Mind you, that chair probably costs a few grand.

There are many people in this hobby, and on this very board, for whom dropping $500 on a card is no bigger an issue than me spending $10 on a card I want. It is truly no object, or at least not a major one.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
