If you were to make a set...

...who would you put in it and how many cards would it be?

would you make the set just of verterans or rookies, star players or 4th liners? 50 cards or 100? or 200? or 600?

im curious what people would say.

And may give me some ideas on my next project to work on.

I know that there have been other renditions of this topic before but has been a while so thought I would start it up again.

It would look shockingly like the love-child of Habs Centennial and Superlative Bleu Blanc Rouge. LOL

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

5 cards. All Sean Avery. Set called "Burn These" A full set would be worth -$10.

Seriously though, I would probably go with a specialty set of players who have captained a Stanley Cup winning team. Insert set of Teams who won the cup, but no doubles (ie: a Detroit card would cover all their wins, etc.

Would it go up in value each year as more sets get burnt?

It would actually drop in value $10 a year. So in the first year a full set would be worth -$10, second year -$20 and so on.
I'll add a redemption program. Redeem a picture of you burning the cards and you get $5

Actually I just had a thought. My set would be reprints of all the biggest pre-lockout RCs. I'm not talking about the ones that turned out to be worth a little (Brodeur) but the cards that were THE big time rookies at the time. (Jagr, Fedorov, Falloon, Lindros). There would be an auto parallel #/99, a buyback parallel with each player having a different /# and a buyback auto 1/1. Also, a Jersey insert #499 with a patch parallel #/10.

well the 2008 draft crop had a lot of good players and this year is there ''senior year'' id say. So maybe put in the players from the 2008 draft crop that made it: Stamkos,Doughty,Myers,Eberle...
Would call it like Senior Moments or something like that. Would have it made by Panini Certified and have fun with it with all there parallels. If by UD, id put it in SPA, nice hard signed autos and wouls have em /ed out of 50

I'd make a 200 card set. Bases would be divided into 4 quadrants- HOFers, Retired stars, Current stars, and young stars.

Parallel set with autos/ with JSYs/ Patches/ and the elusive 1/1 patch/Auto glove- hand numbered.

Nice and simple. No stupid inserts, and 300 different coloured base parallels that are worth less than the packaging the cards came in. Just a straight up set for older collectors that the new people can get into, as well.

sigh.... Just yearning for the old days....

I never share my innovative ideas until I get them going for myself, but I think that a 100 card box set of the league's 100 all-time winningest goalies would make me lineup at the LCS for a box.

Yay, Irbe at #57 all-time would coincedentally make the box set
