Listen once you PM the person if they choose not to honor their contest there isn't much you can do. I mean you really aren't out anything anyways.
What does starting a thread really accomplish? It is juvenile to do that. The best thing to do is move on and not deal with that person again.Last edited by jaybird_1981; 08-19-2011 at 05:11 PM.

Exactly, but at least give everyone else an option to not deal with that person again in the future as well!!!

See the thing is that really isn't needed. People know who to avoid and word travels fast there is no reason to go to their level and start a thread that will only result in trouble for everyone involved.

Again, it's not the same. In a giveaway, one side has nothing at stake at all. In a trade or sale, there is something tangible to lose for both sides.
Questioning someone's credibility over a gesture of goodwill that (perhaps unfortunately) went awry is misguided and immature. Nothing was lost and nothing was gained. Publicizing the member's name over a situation like this is uncalled for in my opinion - could be seen as slander in a sense.

AT this point I wasn't planning on calling him out on the forum. Im just trying to figure out if I should keep contacting the guy about the cards or should I just blow it off? I kinda felt something fishy was up anyway when the threads concerning the contest were erased. In the past I used to believe folks and take them for their word lately not so much. Times change and I guess I have changed with them. Oh and Slander is saying something that is untrue that damages a persons credibility and harms him in a monetary way. I only bring this up because alot of folks like to throw out words like that to scare folks. So if something happens to other folks similar to this remember as long as you keep it honest you are ok legally.

A man should stand by his word - even if he sends ya $100 in base cards he should make it right.

I disagree. If he doesn't respond to pm's about it then it deserves a call out. Granted nothing is lost, but that is the kind of lack of integrity that is not wanted in the hobby. It is not about the money. Hell, even when I get stiffed in a trade or a purchase it's not the money I care about it is the principle. I could care less about the cards or the cash, it is the fact that someone is low enough to take advantage of people in what should be a hobby based on fun and camaraderie. Same goes here. It is the principle that warrants action. Word surely does not travel fast if no words are spoken.

It's the same in that all you have is your word in this day and age and once you lose that, you lose all credibility for anyone to trust you now or even in the future!!! Esp. when you do something of goodwill and not follow through!! I can understand that situations might come up in which you won't be able to fulfill it, but at least let the winner know of your situation instead of acting the way he/she did!!Last edited by allday_vikes; 08-19-2011 at 10:21 PM.
