I agree with you Mike, it will be much nicer on our wallets!
I find it very difficult to believe Bobrovsky (now a certain-backup) makes a better Cup RC /99 than Kadri, who is more than a marginal prospect.

Normally I don't get to chase anything in the cup (minus rookie year stuff for my player collections), unless I decide to pick up random Pens pieces. Nice to see Letang's name on two cards on the checklist, although the quad patch with Sid, Geno, and Flower will be a pricey one...

You have to keep in mind that which players were going to be on the /99 list or for any cards of that matter was decided minimum 6 months ago or even certainly sometime in January or December.
I knew who was going to be the /99s by February/March already. At that time Kadri was doing so bad and wasn't going to be with Leafs until next year at least. Bobrovsky was playing really well. If I knew publicly who was going to be on the list at that time... I think UD must have decided way before then.
They have to make these cards and send them out to sign. And since this product was delayed several times, you can only think they had a lot of time to chance but the fact is no.
They are a big company, but they certainly won't go change the print run of a couple players just to correct something quite insignificant.
Everyone can blame UD a lot of the times, but they can't control when the player actually sends the cards in, and to tell them they have to sign another set and wait for them to return... that is such a pain... unless you want two redemptions instead two live cards.

Crosby/Lemieux dual auto
Then should it still not be on the checklist, but just packed out as a redemption? Sounds pretty fishy to me. To my mind, this was to be one of the premier cards to chase and now my gut tells me it's not even going to be in the set...and after all their pitch about what a big deal it was, I'm pretty disappointed. I hope I'm wrong but I've seen nothing to indicate that this card exists or will ever exist.
Totally off-topic, my friends and I were heavily mocking the Dominion subset names yesterday and were coming up with some of our own. I only wish they could be reprinted here ;-) And yet, even though we were intentionally trying to make them as bad as Dominion, we couldn't come up with anything as stupid as Strapping Lads. That's a HOF horrible name in my book!

I gotta believe this card is going to be made even if it's packed out as a redemption

wow, no Dekanich. How does he have a RC in basically every other product, and then nothing in the Cup? weird.

cmon, Stewart still with the Avs? weird considering there are 5 other Avs and only one other Blue for the base, would make sense to distribute it more.

For some reason, it seems UD does not like the Blues so this would make sense
. They always seem to get the shorted in products.
But, they probably just had the cards made to far in advance to change it. Although Shattenkirk is pictured with the Blues on a "Trios" card so who knows...
