UD Blog Post: Players to avoid at the moment

So I just read the UD blog about the top 10 players to avoid collecting.

Jets made #8, I can understand this. However Crosby was not on this list. Now they are talking about avoiding collecting(buying) certain players due to hype or having reached the peak of this potential value.

Do you think Crosby stuff should have been on that list?

Sid fulfills far too many needs.

He is the Messiah for people that have a small amount of Hockey, know nothing about the Sport and watch little on TV. Passionate Collectors of Baseball, Football and Basketball are probably more inclined to have Sid in their collection than any other Hockey player, if they have any Hockey at all.

Now the longer that Sid is out injured, the less his cards will command on the secondary market.

Already Common Crosby jersey cards 2-3 year old that were fetching $35.00 are now having trouble at $10.00 - $12.00.

Crosby just needs to get back on the Ice and produce and his cards will go back to normal. Now is the time to buy up those Crosby GU and hold onto them for a bit. If anything Crosby should be on the top 10 of players to not avoid for the moment. If you can snatch up a bunch of GU for 9 or 10$ and keep them until he gets back on the ice poppin 1 or 2 points a game, u have made a good investment as those jerseys will slowly start climbing back up to 20$ plus.

I read the article as "players to avoid because their values are too high right now" in most cases. As such, I'm surprised that Carlin didn't put Crosby on the list he did yesterday about the players to get on now, now, now.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

interesting list they got there. The only players on the list that mattered to me were Mariono Riveara, Derek Jeter and Peyton Manning, all of which i am good with as far as collectibles go. As far as Sidney Crosby, though it is blashemous to say being that im a Wings fan lol, i think that once he gets back on the ice, he'll be fine. I dont think that there should be too much panic around him, however i just hope that they do the right thing with crosby and take as much time with him from a medical standpoint as possible. He's a young guy with a long time ahead of him, there is no rush from my point of view.

That's what I took from it, too. He explicitly stated with Peyton Manning, for example, that he's at the top of the list only because of the current prices and demand for his stuff.

On that note, do you see those mentioned yesterday starting to go up in value now since they are on a list like that?`
