eBay: Final Value Fees on Shipping?
I was just looking through my eBay section and glanced at the fees sections, and noticed that eBay is charging two Fianl Value Fees for each item, one for the amount the item sells out and one for the shipping cost.
I've never noticed it before, is this new? It seems really petty to me since we were already getting charged two fees by the same company with normal Final Value fees and PayPal fees.
I just did the quick math and if I sell something in auction for $0.99, after these 2 eBay fees, the listing fee, the PayPal fee, and the actual shipping cost, all I'm actually profiting is about $0.80...

I never noticed this before, not sure if its new or not, but they are such bloodsuckers, fees for everything, and plus owning paypal is even more they make in fees. We had this discussion a while ago, saying hopefully someone decides to make a new auction site thats just as big and good as ebay, and cheaper to sell stuff.

eBay announced it earlier this year;

I believe it took effect in April. For sure May since I have charges at that time for shipping. If I remember correctly, it started about the same time that the "50 free auctions" per month started too.
For a 10$ DLVD item, the fees are 0.90$ from eBay + 0.59$ from Paypal or about 15% of your final sale value.

You could sell a card here for 9.25$ DLVD and make more money than selling the same thing on eBay for 10$ DLVD.

Wow really? Well thats awesome, SCF should have got this rolling the second ebay boosted their fees, as the publicity for SCF's auction site will be huge. Such an awesome Idea, cant wait to see it rolling

yeah i hate it, but corporations have to o much power in general but hey what can you do when people are distracted watching jersey shore? lol the world is coming to an end

lol just another reason why I hate ebay , really what gives them the right to ask for a percentage of the shipping cost yet they can regulate the amount you can charge , I cant wait until SCf gets their site up and running , and/or other auctions sites take all of ebays buisness ,greedy people lol , if ya ask me this is illegal and going to far , who is gonna wanna sell their items and give most of the money to ebay and paypal , noone lol , what all the sellers should do is strike back and stand against ebay , because without the public selling and buying ebay is nothing

I think my level of being upset stems from the fact that there is really no other place to go. They have a monopoly on the whole online auction and if I can't find something or sell it on here, I have to go to eBay. And it sucks lol.

I just finished a two-weekend selling spree, eBay charged me $749 and change. On the other hand, how the heck else was I gonna get rid of 1,500 cards in that amount of time? The fees are Too Damn High, but you get what you pay for................

Hah, and I thought they were finally doing the sellers a favor with the 50 free listings; I guess I should have read a little closer.
For the kind of low-end cards that I usually sell (which usually means ~$0.99-$3), I guess it makes more sense to use my 50 free listings a month with starting bids of $1.49-$1.99 instead.
