so somehowe Thomas Vanek is Canadian ???

can someone please Explaine what you see in this card , it is a thomas Vanek dual Patch / Tag card from the new 2011/12 artifacts , the Tag however features a Clear Canadian Flag , now where did that come from , Vanek was born and grew up in Austria where he played his first hockey and then he joined the university of Minnesota and then played with the Rochester Americans and was drafted by the sabers and that is where he still is , none of the teams above are from Canada nor they Cary any Type of Canadian Flag on the Jersey from inside and out , so where did the Canadian Flag come from on the Tag , does that mean Upper deck Made a BOOBO , here is a link to the auction of the card

If you notice it says "tag" under the flag patch. This means that it is taken from the inside tag probably from a Canadian made jersey.

not the buffalo Sabers , the jersey's they use are all made by REEBOK a pure American company and before that they were made by starter also a pure american company , infact the last time the sabers used a Canadian company was in 1991 and that was CCM , 12 years before Vanek was drafted into the league , am telling you this has to be a huge mistake

Reebok is a Brittish company. In 2005 they phased out the CCM brand jersey's but they have been making retro and alternate jersey's under that brand (CCM) periodically since then.

I'm not sure if they make any reebok jerseys in Canada but it isn't a stretch to think it could have came from a CCM jersey either.

Reebok Edge Jerseys are made by CCM in Canada.

Check out the pics on this page (3rd or 4th set of pics from the top shows a really good example)

The jerseys are made in Canada. Not an error, not related to Vanek's nationality.

infact the last time the sabers used a Canadian company was in 1991 and that was CCM ,

Didn't the NHL have dual manufacturers for a couple of years? The teams white jerseys were made by CCM and the dark jerseys were made by Koho. I seem to remember the Koho logo on the back of the jersey below the collar (above the players name).

    From Wikipedia:
From the 2000–01 season, up to the 2005–06 NHL season, all team jerseys were made by The Hockey Company in an NHL-wide deal, and were branded with subsidiary brands. The Koho brand was on dark jerseys and third jerseys, while the CCM brand was on the white jerseys. The Hockey Company began the practice of putting the manufacturer's logo on the back of the jersey, below the neck, rather than on the back of the waist hem, as had previously been the practice.
